Working Bee - Sunday 18th August 9am

Compost Group:      Will be creating a new pallet bay for excess compost available for members.
Infrastructure:          Mulching paths, painting shed, cleaning gutters for rainwater catchment
Pest Group:             Spraying for mealy bug and resetting rat traps.
Vegetable Group:    Planting eggplants, overhauling the mandala and harvesting leek and broadbeans
 
Seed Saving:           This is a new group, we will be starting up a seed bank. Any members interested in
                                 joining are welcome.

WORKING BEE - Sunday 19 August, 10 am

Lots to do including: 
- planting some veges, 
- composting and mulching fruit trees, 
 - weeding, 
- compost management, etc. 
We'll be looking for volunteers after the bee at 12 pm to clear the compost bins, so let me us know if you're keen for extra work post-bee.

Community Gardens National Conference, 11-14 October

WORKSHOP: Gardening in Harmony with Native Wildlife

Come and learn how native wildlife and gardeners can live together in harmony.
Introduction to WIRES - Presenters: Kim Strong and Brigette Sharp from WIRES.
• Wildlife solutions to issues in organic gardens (snails, rats, bountiful insects) 
• How to protect fruit trees (and native wildlife) 
• What native birds, mammals, reptiles and frogs live in urban environments? 
• Why should we protect native wildlife? 
• Types of habitat 
• Plants to attract wildlife 
• And so much more!
Cost: Members of garden free. Friends of the garden $10. Non-members $20 to be paid on the day. Please bring correct change.

Compost Awareness Workshop - Saturday 12 May, 10:30-12:30

Come along to the garden this Saturday to celebrate International composting week with other garden members & the community.

The workshop will run from 10.30am until 12.30pm : learn how to make GREAT compost and have a successful worm farm.
